I was paging through a model train catalog from a well-known mail order house, and I noticed some figures called "Park Bums" which sell for about $13 on sale. Well, that was the last straw for me! Why model something so terrible as the condition of the poor and homeless? And why spend $13 for it? Give that cash to a homeless shelter and model something pleasant and uplifting!

     Let's strive to improve the human condition both in real life and on our layouts! The sadder side of life we have the power to change! Please remember those less fortunate this Christmas with charitable donations to local shelters or the Salvation Army.
