When it comes to capacitors, it does! Recently I came under some fire for selecting a capacitor rated at about 3 times the voltage it might receive. I was criticized for it being too big!!! In this case it was about a capacitor in what is called an electronic flywheel circuit. But why, I asked myself, were some people so critical of a choice that was made with safety in mind? Well, I figure that some hobbyists are secretly uncomfortable with the lower-rated, small capacitors in their circuits, and they don't want to admit that bigger capacitors are preferred by many hobbyists. Funny how a personal insecurity will cloud someone's judgment and provoke hostility!
